Your Role
You will be responsible for meeting production and profitability targets within the National Underwriting Centre (NUC) by underwriting large and complex new business, renewals, and endorsement changes based on the underwriting criteria issued by the Accident and Health Department (A&H). In addition, you will provide exceptional customer service to Chubb's producers by building relationships with key producers and continue to service existing producers based on broker allocation, as directed by the NUC Manager, A&H.
Underwriting Quality and Expertise
Evaluate, accept, or decline all large & complex new business, renewal business, and endorsement requests based on the underwriting guidelines to ensure profitability and growth of the A&H portfolios
Achieve or exceed retention targets for renewals
Achieve or exceed quality audit expectations, and ensure thorough and accurate file documentation is upheld
Evaluate referrals from Underwriters, providing feedback where appropriate in the form of guidance and coaching
Play a key part in the completion of underwriting auditing as directed by the Accident & Health NUC Manager
Broker Relations and Service Delivery
Establish and maintain professional, strong long-term working relationships with producers serviced through the NUC through the regular attendance of broker visitations.
Where applicable, establish relationships with set number of new producers (new meaning new to Chubb)
Monitor workloads and manage peak periods where required i.e., seasonal business
Ensure all work processes align with and adhere to CICA's customer service charter
Team Collaboration & Operational Efficiency
Solicit and share information on competitors pricing, product and selection criteria and suggest adjustments in business approach accordingly
Ensure that process improvement benefits are effectively executed well and benefits realised
Assist colleagues and Managers with product and business queries
Assist members of the Claims Department with any queries
Assist in general department matters as directed by NUC Manager, A&H
Your Skills & Experience
Up to 2 years underwriting experience in any product line
Strong understanding of Underwriting policy practice and policy documentation requirements, including terms and conditions as defined by industry regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong negotiation and marketing skills
Strong organisational and analytical skills
