Job Description Summary
The CT, Mammography, or MRI Dual Registered Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Radiology and CT / Mammo / MRI Dual Registered Technologist performs high quality Radiology and CT / Mammo / MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician.
Responsibilities
Operates imaging equipment : Radiology and CT, Mammography, or MRI, following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Positions patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines.
Minimum Training and Education
Education : Associate’s Degree or equivalent. Work experience : 2 years. Graduate of an AMA approved school or training program, a 24‑month approved School of Radiologic Technology, or other approved training (e.g., military). Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and licensed by South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations
One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist and CT, Mammography or MRI Tech. Certification is required in modality area post radiology certification. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR / AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, from elevated areas, in confined / cramped spaces, kneeling, bending at the waist, squatting, repetitive motions with hands / wrists / elbows / shoulders, reaching in all directions, full use of both legs and both hands / arms, lifting and carrying 15 lbs unassisted, lifting objects 15 lbs from / to floor up to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36 inches to overhead 15 lbs, maintaining 20 / 40 vision, seeing and recognizing objects close at hand or at a distance, matching or discriminating between colors, depth perception, hearing acuity, gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, working in a latex safe environment, tactile sensory functions, (selected positions) olfactory sensory function, and respirator use qualification.
