As a Cloud Database (DBA) Specialist you will support one of our core business platforms and provide support and guidance for the organisations data in the cloud. In this role you will facilitate the design and implementation of data solutions to achieve business objectives so we can provide unparalleled member experiences. This is a 2 year maximum term role to start.
What will you be doing?
- Embracing Automation : Adopting an automation-first mindset.
- Provisioning Data Sources : Managing both structured and unstructured data sources in the cloud using infrastructure as code for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS workloads.
- Implementing Monitoring Mechanisms : Setting up and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems to detect security incidents and application errors.
- Creating Backup Schedules : Developing and maintaining backup schedules for cloud-based data sources.
- Familiarising with High Availability : Applying high availability and disaster recovery solutions for data sources.
- Applying Security Best Practices : Implementing and enforcing data source security measures.
- Utilising DevOps Tools : Leveraging DevOps tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps Pipelines, with strong SQL Server DBA skills including database administration, design, and performance tuning.
What are we looking for in you?
Relevant Qualifications : Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology are mandatory. Azure, Google, or AWS certifications are desirable.Enterprise Experience : Demonstrated experience in database and system administration at an enterprise scale, with extensive knowledge in SQL Server and DR / HA in IaaS and PaaS environments.Azure Data Sources : Demonstrated experience with Azure data sources, both structured and unstructured.CI / CD Pipelines : Having experience with CI / CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.Implementing Infrastructure as Code : Demonstrating proficiency with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.Ability to Leverage Additional Tools : Experience with data management tools and PostgreSQL is desirable. Familiarity with data masking tools and techniques would be beneficial.Availability : Availability to meet operational working hours, reasonable overtime, and on-call duties during rostered periods as required.What can we offer you?
