Position Overview
As a Retail Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Subway Shepparton South store, ensuring that the business meets its operational, financial, and customer service objectives.
This position involves leadership and supervision of staff, inventory and cost control, compliance with franchise policies and legislative requirements, and the implementation of business strategies to enhance performance and profitability. The Retail Manager plays a key role in maintaining the brand’s reputation and ensuring smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate all daily store operations to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery.
- Recruit, train, roster, and manage staff in line with Subway’s HR policies and operational procedures.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock control, and supplier liaison to minimise waste and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure the store complies with all food safety, hygiene, health, and occupational safety regulations.
- Develop and execute business strategies aimed at increasing sales, profitability, and overall performance.
- Monitor financial results, prepare regular sales and expense reports, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate local marketing initiatives and support Subway’s broader promotional campaigns.
- Foster a high standard of customer service by addressing and resolving complaints promptly and professionally.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and staff evaluations to improve team effectiveness and retention.
- Report directly to the Director on operational matters, compliance, staffing, and performance outcomes.

Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Management, or HospitalityMinimum 12 months experience in a retail or fast-food management roleMust have prior experience within a Subway storeProven leadership and team management capabilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene standards in a QSR setting.Financial literacy, including budgeting, cost control, and KPI tracking.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.Proficiency with scheduling, inventory, and POS systems.Employment Conditions
