WHO IS GETUP
GetUp is an independent campaigning community and movement of more than one million everyday people working to build a progressive Australia and put people back into politics.
GetUp works on a range of campaigns in the areas of First Nations Justice, Climate Justice, Economic Fairness, Human Rights and Democratic Integrity. Whatever we do - from making sure hundreds of thousands of people are able to vote, to successfully stopping major projects threatening the environment, or securing billions of dollars in new funding for mental health – we do it with as many people as possible – using their hands, hearts, and voices to fight for justice on the issues that matter most.
GetUp is currently several months into a significant rebuild following the last Federal Election. In the last few months, GetUp has been engaging more people in its campaigns and raising more money from its supporters than at any other point in the last few years, on a range of important issues from Freedom of Information to climate to gambling ads to Gaza. Hiring for a number of new roles – including this one – is a key part of that rebuild, and ensuring that GetUp is well placed to have very significant impact in the years ahead.
THE MEMBER RELATIONS TEAM
GetUp’s Member Relations Team supports the organisation’s work running campaigns that help create a more progressive Australia. The team pride itself on forging lasting relationships with members as well as the ability to seize crucial moments when taking immediate action can make a real difference. We recognise that affected communities are at the heart of our work and we are always looking for ways to apply a strong rights and social justice lens to our fundraising. The Member Relations Team provides support and care to our members, and runs fundraising campaigns to ensure GetUp can continue to scale up our work and have a greater impact on issues that our members care about.
