The Opportunity
The Opportunity K&C Australia is seeking a talented Structural Engineer with a passion for complex engineering and a keen interest in blast and impact engineering. The role will include designing and assessing structures and façades to withstand accidental or intentional explosive or other high-impact events.
You’ll work on protective design for complex infrastructure, government and defence projects, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and have opportunities to grow into leadership roles aligned with your technical interests in addition to project management, marketing, or business development.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering4+ years of structural engineering design experience2+ years of project management with multidisciplinary coordinationStrong foundation in structural dynamics and engineering mechanicsProficiency in steel, concrete, and masonry design from concept to constructionExcellent communication and technical writing skillsHighly motivated, proactive, and adaptableStrong organisational and quality management skillsTechnologically proficient and quick to learn new toolsExperience across all phases of large-scale infrastructure projectsExperience in blast engineering or interest in the fieldHostile vehicle mitigation and vehicle dynamicsFinite element analysis and computational mechanicsSecurity and risk managementFamiliarity with blast engineering guidelinesChartered status (CPEng) with Engineers Australia, or close to achievingMember or candidate for the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES)Australian Citizenship preferred (for Defence clearance eligibility), though international applicants with relevant experience will be consideredWhy Join Us?
