About the role…
Reporting into the Head of Data Governance, the Data Governance Lead will help the organisation adopt platform changes, governance standards, facilitate data literacy uplift and oversee continual improvement plans with a focus on reliable, high-quality data and measurable business outcomes. Responsibilities include :
- Drive initiatives to improve the information governance capabilities across Energy Australia, such as data literacy programmes, technology tools and Information Governance Working Groups
- Champion the value of data and lead initiatives to continually review and improve standards, tools and frameworks
- Build strong relationships with various Technology SMEs & Leaders to ensure their perspectives shape information governance decisions
- Work closely Delivery & Platform teams, the Data Office and other Technology teams to ensure key programmes of work are supported from an information governance perspective
- Leading investigation re data quality issues, taking responsibility for driving through to resolution including data manipulation and ETL
About You
You’re a collaborative data leader who helps teams embrace governance standards, drives data literacy across the organisation, and champions continual improvement to deliver reliable, high-quality data and measurable business outcomes. Additionally, you will have most of the following :
Proven experience in data governance, auditing, or compliance within a complex organisational environmentStrong understanding of data management principles, including metadata, data quality, and master data managementDemonstrated ability to design and facilitate governance forums, ensuring clear decision-making and accountabilityStrong analytical mindset with the ability to translate governance standards into practical actions.Hands-on experience with databases development / management and understanding of cloud data platformsExperience with Data Governance or Information Management tool(s) such as Alation, Monte Carlo, Informatica, Collibra or similarUtilities / Energy experience (desirable)Why Us?
