Job descriptionProven experience in data governance, auditing, or compliance within a complex organisational environment Strong understanding of data management principles, including metadata, data quality, and master data management Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate governance forums, ensuring clear decision-making and accountability Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate governance standards into practical actions. About the role
About the role…
Reporting into the Head of Data Governance, the Data Governance Lead will help the organisation adopt platform changes, governance standards, facilitate data literacy uplift and oversee continual improvement plans with a focus on reliable, high-quality data and measurable business outcomes. Responsibilities include :
- Drive initiatives to improve the information governance capabilities across Energy Australia, such as data literacy programmes, technology tools and Information Governance Working Groups
- Champion the value of data and lead initiatives to continually review and improve standards, tools and frameworks
- Build strong relationships with various Technology SMEs & Leaders to ensure their perspectives shape information governance decisions
- Work closely Delivery & Platform teams, the Data Office and other Technology teams to ensure key programmes of work are supported from an information governance perspective
- Leading investigation re data quality issues, taking responsibility for driving through to resolution including data manipulation and ETL
