Overview

Southern Shorthaul Railroad is a privately owned rail operator, providing services throughout New South Wales and Victoria. Our focus on customer service has helped forge our reputation for safety, quality, and reliability. Due to winning new major long term contracts we are seeking to recruit Freight Logistics Planners to assist our operations team with the planning and scheduling of our rail logistics requirements throughout VIC & NSW. Full training will be provided to adapt your current skills to the rail industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data processing for logistic plans
  • Assist with data processing for crews roster
  • Assist with organising crew accommodation requirements
  • Assist with arranging locomotive fleet fuelling requirements
  • Assist with arranging locomotive fleet maintenance requirements
  • Assist with other adhoc tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in road or rail logistics preferred, but not essential
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player
  • Prior experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to think on your feet
  • Professional and positive can do attitude
  • Commitment to a safety first culture
  • Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
  • These positions are based out of our Head Office located in Bendigo Victoria.
