In addition to its traditional strengths, MKD has, in recent years, enhanced its capabilities and offerings with strong container haulage and operations from wharf to client, interstate line-haul operations and metropolitan full load delivery services and DC to store services operating directly from Laverton.

Organisational growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager based in Melbourne (Laverton Nth) reporting directly to the General Manager.

About the role

Previous experience in the Transport & Logistics or Container Industry is essential.

Responsibilities

• As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for :
• Generating new business customers for MKD TRANSCORP.
• Closing new sales opportunities.
• Prospecting for new clients, maintaining a detailed pipeline of new business opportunities.
• Aching annual "new" business sales targets.
• Meeting and exceeding KPIs associated with growing our local, interstate and intrastate division.
• Acting as a contact for service and operational based queries relating to new business.
• Central point of contact for awarded new business within your portfolio.
• Provision of regular reporting relating to sales activity.
• Participating in tenders and RFPs.
• Actively promoting all MKD products and services to all new prospects and our existing customer base.
• Working independently and collaboratively with the wider MKD team.
• Participating in weekly and monthly team meetings as required.
• Positively contributing to the organisation's culture by acting responsibly and in the best interest of MKD TRANSCORP.
