Disability Support Worker

Role Description

This is a casual role for a Disability Support Worker, located in Belfield, Sydney. The role involves providing tailored and compassionate assistance to individuals with disabilities, focusing on daily living, personal care, community engagement and promoting independence.

The participant is Chinese, non‑verbal and requires constant supervision. Initially, we are looking for two 4‑hour shifts per week, with the possibility to increase to 25+ hours per week.

We are seeking a person of Asian background with an understanding of Asian culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in support worker roles and a strong understanding of participant‑centred care.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with participants.
• Knowledge and application of safeguarding principles to ensure the safety and well‑being of participants.
• Basic technical support skills for managing participant documentation and NDIS‑related systems.
• Minimum certificate III or IV in disability services, community care or a related field are advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently as required.
• First Aid and CPR certifications.
• A valid driver’s licence and a road‑worthy vehicle are mandatory for this position.
