About SafeWork NSW

SafeWork NSW is the state’s workplace health and safety regulator. Our focus is to protect NSW workers by preventing and reducing work related fatalities, serious injuries, and illnesses by securing compliance with work health and safety and associated legislation.

SafeWork NSW is undergoing an exciting and important period of transformation as we establish the organisation as a modern, strong and standalone Work Health and Safety Regulator.

About the Team

Our Enterprise Registered Training Organisation (RTO) plays a vital role in building the capability of our inspectorate through the delivery of nationally accredited qualifications and professional development programs.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Officer to support the delivery and coordination of key training and assessment activities within our Enterprise RTO.

About the Role

This role supports the operational delivery of accredited and non-accredited training programs aligned to Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) standards. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training activities are well coordinated, compliant, and responsive to learner and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor attendance across multiple training cohorts and programs.
  • Manage training evaluations, including QR code setup and data collation.
  • Collate and analyse Training & Assessment (T&A) feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Support Gateways and Inspector Progression processes.
  • Respond to and manage Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) requests.
  • Maintain and update the Outcome Tracker to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Process and monitor extensions to training timelines.
  • Maintain the training calendar and scheduling for all programs.
  • Coordinate external marking and liaise with assessors to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide support to trainers, assessors, and learners using the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Prepare individual status reports for participants and stakeholders.
  • Engage daily with stakeholders, including trainers, assessors, and participants, to resolve queries and maintain smooth operations.
  • To be successful

You will be a proactive and organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven training environment. Your ability to balance competing priorities, think strategically, and maintain an agile, solutions-focused mindset will be critical to navigating the complexities of multiple training cohorts and programs.

    You will bring :

  • Experience in RTO or training environments, with a strong understanding of ASQA standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to build productive relationships across diverse groups.
  • Proven ability to support students, trainers, and assessors, addressing a variety of needs and issues with professionalism and empathy.
  • Confidence using LMS platforms (Canvas preferred) and data tracking tools to manage training delivery effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, ensuring accuracy while managing competing priorities.
  • Strategic thinking and adaptability, anticipating the flow-on effects of scheduling changes and coordinating alternative solutions to keep programs running smoothly.
  • Ability to prioritise under pressure, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards – highly desirable).
