Job description2+ years’ experience as a Controls Software Engineer (or honour grad with demonstrated project experience). Bachelor or higher degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. Experience programming PLCs or real‑time controllers. Experience designing, developing and debugging software with a higher‑level or object‑oriented language such as C#, C++, C, Python, Java, Visual Basic or similar. Experience in HMI / SCADA / GUI development is beneficial. Hands‑on experience in Automated Material Handling Systems or similar industry is beneficial. Agile / Scrum development environment experience is beneficial. Australian citizenship or permanent residency. Competitive salary with salary packaging and novated leasing options. Drive global innovation as a Controls Software Engineer / Developer at Dematic, developing high‑quality software for large‑scale warehouse automation projects.
What You Will Be Working On
Reporting to the Director of Controls Software Development in Australia, you will work within a Scrum team, focusing on producing robust controls software and higher‑level tools that streamline configuration and deployment of controls products.
Responsibilities
- Passion for excellence, keen interest in software, robotics and automation, and ability to produce high‑quality PLC and higher‑level software within the required timeframe.
- Deep understanding of professional software development, designing, developing, testing, documenting, enhancing and supporting software.
- Set technical standards within your area and mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate with peer technical leads to standardise development across global teams.
