Consultant General Surgeon | Regional Referral Hospital | Victoria
The Opportunity
We are working closely with a well-established regional hospital in Victoria and are keen to connect with FRACS-qualified General Surgeons interested in full-time opportunities within a stable and supportive surgical service.
The department provides a broad mix of elective and emergency general surgery across a significant regional catchment. Consultants practise with genuine clinical autonomy while working within a structured multidisciplinary team.
This role will appeal to Surgeons seeking operative variety, continuity of care and long-term regional stability.
The Hospital & Surgical Services
This is a substantial regional hospital providing acute medical and surgical services to a large rural and cross-border population.
Surgical services include:
• Broad general surgery (elective and emergency)
• Acute surgical admissions
• Endoscopy services
• Integration with Anaesthetics and ICU
• Established theatre facilities
• Multidisciplinary peri-operative support
The hospital functions as the primary acute referral centre for the region.

Requirements
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS – General Surgery)
• Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
• International Medical Graduates assessed by RACS as partially or substantially comparable
