THE OPPORTUNITY
The Application Support Officer is a key member of the Enterprise and Enabling Systems team, responsible for the management and sustainment of ACIC’s enterprise systems classified up to PROTECTED. These systems include both bespoke solutions and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products.
Working under broad direction, the officer collaborates with stakeholders across the Agency to support the delivery of ACIC’s strategic objectives. The role involves identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and developing and maintaining processes, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation to ensure the effective operation of supported applications.
The Support officer also holds contract management responsibilities, including instructing managed service providers, ensuring the security and integrity of applications, and consulting with external vendors. They contribute to ICT project work and support a range of enterprise applications, including :

As an Application Support Officer, you will :
Support, maintain, administer and enhance ACIC’s enterprise systems.Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning new technologies, including a willingness to develop skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.Contribute to ICT projects and work packages, providing technical advice and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, whole-of-government procedures, policies, and frameworks particularly the Essential Eight strategies for cyber threat mitigation.Liaise with stakeholders to manage Level 2 and Level 3 BAU incidents, assisting in the rapid restoration of services and managing defects and enhancements across product lines.Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and software bugs.Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.Support the management of service contracts, including implementation of new systems, major upgrades, and security patching.Develop and maintain application support processes and standard procedure document.Develop and maintain productive relationships with ICT teams and stakeholders.Desirable skills and experience
Tertiary ICT qualifications or equivalent / demonstrated experience are highly regarded.A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
