About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join the mind‑body team based in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Children’s Hospital Westmead. The team is multidisciplinary, collaborating with Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Neurology, Adolescent Medicine, Chronic Pain Service, and the Hospital School. This role involves running an inpatient program for functional presentations (e.g., functional neurological disorder) and providing psychiatric consultations and acute mental‑health assessments for admitted patients. The service also supports research and offers training and supervision to hospitals and community teams nationally and internationally.
What You Will Do
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, conduct comprehensive family and individual assessments, develop case formulation and treatment plans in a tertiary referral setting, and manage complex cases with referrals to local and rural services. Demonstrate competence in systemic family therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy as a minimum. Participate in research projects and provide clinical supervision via videoconferencing for rural and remote clinicians. This is an excellent opportunity to extend your practice at a tertiary level within a supportive team.
