Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Physiotherapist - Grade 3 to join the Pelvic Health team in the Functional Gut Clinic.
About the Role
The Senior Clinician has a key leadership role in the provision, organisation and development of Continence and Pelvic Health physiotherapy services at Broadmeadows Hospital and across Northern Health. Through their clinical expertise the Senior Clinician will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in client care, promotion of quality, education of staff and students, and team and program development.
The Senior Clinician will play a key role in expanding the Gastroenterology / Functional Gut Clinic at Northern Health. Allied Health clinicians with gastroenterology expertise include dietetics (nutrition optimisation, symptom management, disease control / induction of remission), continence physiotherapy (sensory retraining including urge suppression strategies) and psychology (self‑management of psychological distress associated with diagnosis, symptoms, and management). The Senior Clinician will work alongside Dietetics and Psychology, and be in close partnership with the Northern Health Gastroenterology team.
The successful candidate will be a flexible, team player who has an ability to assess and manage complex continence and pelvic health related pathologies in a timely manner. Responsibilities include managing a varied caseload and acting as a clinical resource and mentor for junior staff and students.
The Senior Clinician will collaborate closely with the NH Gastroenterology team, Allied Health, and Physiotherapy leadership groups to monitor, evaluate and develop the Continence and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service including within the Functional Gut Clinic, and ensure organisational targets and key performance indicators are met. This clinician will have experience in the implementation of quality and workforce innovation projects and their robust evaluation. Part of the senior physiotherapy team the staff member will have a key role in linking with community colleagues within Northern Health and other partner organisations to work towards a ‘healthier community’.
This position is fixed term part time (32 hours per fortnight) until June 2026.
