This position is part of Keeping the Body in Mind, an innovative physical health team (comprising of a CNC, Exercise Physiologist, Dietitian and Peer Support Worker) to develop, implement and evaluate targeted lifestyle and pharmacological interventions to reduce cardio-metabolic risk factors in consumers with severe mental illness. The role will focus on working with young people in the early stages of mental illness, assessing the nutritional needs of the consumer and developing, in collaboration with the consumer, an individualised dietary management plan. The position will be actively involved in collecting and analysing data that contributes to understanding the impact of lifestyle interventions on cardio-metabolic health.

Responsibilities
Assess the nutritional needs of consumers and develop, in collaboration with the consumer, an individualised dietary management plan.Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to reduce cardio-metabolic risk factors in consumers with severe mental illness.Actively involved in collecting and analysing data to understand the impact of lifestyle interventions on cardio-metabolic health.Where applicable, focus on young people in the early stages of mental illness.Qualifications and Selection Criteria
Hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.Clinical dietetic experience with consumers with mental illness.Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direct supervision and exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters.Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to provide quality written documentation through proficient IT skills.Excellent organisational skills.Demonstrated initiative and ability to work as an effective team member.Capacity to develop and deliver dietary education and training to professionals including mental health clinicians and GPs.A commitment to quality improvement.Selection Information, Benefits and Additional Details
