L. Arthur Pty Ltd (L. Arthur Transport Services) is looking for an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic.
Description of job duties and responsibilities :
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Ensure all maintenance activities align with pollution control regulations, contributing to smoother vehicle operation and reduced environmental impact.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
- Dismantle vehicle components to conduct thorough inspections on individual parts to determine wear and tear or damage that requires repair or replacement and any other signs of malfunction.
- Utilize service manuals and technical diagrams to guide the repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in engines, transmission and other parts of the fleet vehicles and replacement of defective parts and reassemble components with precision, ensuring all parts meet manufacturer specifications and operational standards.
- Perform detailed testing to verify that all repairs are successful, and components are functioning as expected.
- As required liaison with operational managers and fleet management team to schedule jobs, arrange for equipment to be made available, and coordinate breakdown repairs.
- From time-to-time attendance at, or management of, a breakdown or urgent on-site repair (i.e. reach-stackers) may be required, depending upon the nature of the event and availability of other resources.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition and safely stored.
- Stay up to date with advancements in diesel technology and maintenance practices.
- Report any major vehicle issues to the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and regulations.
- Accountable for providing a safe work environment and ensuring that work takes place in accordance with L Arthur Group Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Accountable for completing jobs allocated by supervisor.
- Accountable for ensuring correct job documentation is recorded and passed on to admin resources for processing.
- In consultation with supervisor, liaise with suppliers to ensure cost-effective provision of repairs and parts.
- Ensure workshop is kept in a clean and tidy state.
Requirements for this role :
Certificate IV or higher qualification or equivalent in bricklaying.Recent 3 year of full-time relevant experience working as a diesel motor mechanic in last five years.Ability to lead and work effectively as part of team of mechanicsAbility to work independently and without supervision.Ability to lift heavy loads and undertake strenuous labour.Salary Range : $80,000-$85,000 per annum
