About the Centre

South Gippsland SPLASH is the key Aquatic and Recreation facility in South Gippsland. Boasting a beautiful indoor 25m pool, a learn‑to‑swim pool and a multi‑court stadium, the facility delivers Learn to Swim programs, aquatic and dry‑group fitness classes, recreational swimming and stadium programmes. In addition, the contract operates the Mirboo North, Korumburra and Poowong Outdoor Pools during the summer. South Gippsland SPLASH is owned by South Gippsland Shire Council and managed by YMCA Victoria.

About the Role

As Centre Manager of South Gippsland SPLASH you will be a key leader providing leadership and vision for the general operations of the Centre and playing a broader role within both the YMCA and South Gippsland Shire Council. You will lead a multitude of business units including Customer Care, Aquatic Safety, Stadium Sports, Operations and Learn to Swim. You will be highly visible within the centre and the local community, forming strong relationships and partnerships that add value to the business operations and ensure services meet the needs of our communities. This full‑time position offers a total remuneration package of up to $109,000 to $116,000 plus super, dependent on experience.

About You

• Able to present the YMCA to the local community while providing leadership and vision for the facility and its staff.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a leisure team.
• An excellent oral and written communicator, able to work in partnership with the South Gippsland Shire Council team and other community groups to develop programmes and services.
• Self‑motivated, able to engage staff and the community and drive the business while maintaining the assets under your control.
• Organised, with a demonstrated ability to engage staff and improve business performance, featuring strong project management skills.
• Focused on the customer experience and cultivating a culture of continuous learning among staff teams.
• Strong general business and financial acumen.
• Committed to fostering a culture of safety at the facility and experienced in risk management.
• Aligned with the Y’s values is critical for this role.
