Job descriptionEfficient and capable cook Able to prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages Experienced in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management and budget control Strict about complying with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs Keen to participate in the early educational opportunities of teaching children about healthy food by sharing in lessons and family events Current Food Safety and Handlers (Health and Community) Certificate Certificate III in Commercial Cookery / equivalent (desirable) Experience in an early childhood setting Reliable transport to and from our centre Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate If you’re looking for a values-led organization with incredible people making a genuine difference. About our Centre
Welcome to Milestones Early Learning Aspley! Our Centre is a spacious double centre featuring expansive natural playgrounds that inspire exploration and creativity.
We’re passionate about educating our children to know the importance and benefits of healthy choices and nutritious meals. We are on the lookout for our next Cook to join our fun-loving team!
If you are passionate about healthy, delicious meals that children love, you will be working in our beautiful new kitchen and also be part of a warm, supportive team that values collaboration, creativity and care.
The role
- This role enables you to play an active part in creating healthy menus.
- You’ll have access to a national network of centre cooks who regularly share recipes, questions, ideas and tips!
- You’ll also be encouraged to utilise the amazing feed Australia program – a free program enabling cooks to plan, budget and access healthy menus to enable children’s growth and development while in child care.
