Senior Tax Accountant

The Role

We are seeking an energetic Senior Tax Accountant with 8+ years’ experience in Australian public practice to join our team. You will play a key role in managing complex tax matters, mentoring junior / outsourced team members, and delivering strategic advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds
• Provide management accounting reporting using XERO & Fathom software
• Manage compliance obligations including FBT and SMSF
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients
• Liaise with the ATO on audits, lodgements, and assessments
• Mentor and review work of junior accountants
• Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation, ensure compliance and CPD requirements
• Use accounting software such as Xero, Fathom, XPM, MYOB, BGL for SMSFs and ATO portals effectively
• Manage day to day client relationships and run client meetings
