Freedman & Gopalan Solicitors is a boutique law firm based in the heart of Sydney, renowned for our high-quality integrated legal services for clients with all types of family law matters. We are committed to providing a personal, empathetic approach to our clients’ unique situations. As the firm grows, we are seeking applications for an experienced family lawyer to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role

You will provide high-quality legal advice and independently handle a diverse range of family law matters, including :

  • Parenting and custody disputes
  • Property and financial settlements
  • Divorce and separation proceedings

You’ll have direct client contact and the opportunity to build strong, ongoing relationships. The role offers autonomy, mentorship, and clear pathways for progression.

Successful applicants will have :

  • A minimum of 3 years of post-admission experience in family law
  • Experience in providing advice and representing clients across a broad range of family law issues
  • Excellent communication and client engagement skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities

    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team

  • A warm, empathetic approach with a genuine desire to help others
  • Confidence in appearance work and briefing Counsel, where required
