About the role :

Are you ready to lead with impact and shape the future of a thriving educational institution?

In this newly created role and as Manager People & Culture Business Partnering at Box Hill Institute, you'll lead and guide a talented team, influence organisational change, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver people solutions that truly make a difference. You will drive strategic HR initiatives that empower leaders, elevate employee experience, and foster a culture of growth and inclusion.

We’re looking for someone passionate about building high-performing teams, navigating complex challenges with confidence, and leaving a legacy of positive transformation. This is a full-time, ongoing position, located at our Elgar campus in Box Hill.

In this role, you will :

  • Lead and develop HR team capability
  • Report HR insights and recommend improvements
  • Ensure consistent HR support across leaders
  • Partner with leaders on change and culture
  • Provide expert HR advice and resolve issues
  • Oversee case management and compliance
  • Manage onboarding, recruitment, and performance cycles
  • Support workforce planning and reporting
  • Improve HR processes and systems
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Represent P&C in projects and initiatives
  • Promote safety, wellbeing, and inclusion

About you :

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, or related field (post‑grad highly regarded).
  • Extensive HR leadership and management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and enterprise agreements.
  • Proven experience in complex case management and workplace relations.
  • Skilled in coaching, development, and capability building.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong judgement and decision‑making in strategic and operational contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate high‑performing teams.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve team goals.
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in preparing high quality, accurate correspondence and reports to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications for a range of tasks including but not limited to, generating letters, reports and database management.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance.
