Network Engineers (179729) Canberra, Australia

Location : Canberra, ACT

Work Type : Contract – Full time

Work Arrangement : Hybrid (3 days in office)

Security Clearance : Must hold current NV1

Start Date : 1 December 2025

We are seeking two experienced professionals to join a high-performing team supporting a large-scale international network across 60 locations in over 50 countries.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a cloud-first transformation while maintaining and enhancing critical network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 and 3 support for a global network, including fault response, configuration updates, and system health monitoring.
  • Install, configure and maintain Cisco and Fortinet platforms (Data Centre Networking, SDWAN, VPN, Wi-Fi).
  • Identify and implement system improvements and contribute to project-based enhancements.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and services to support network development.
  • Manage system upgrades and ensure compliance with ISM guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and standard operating procedures.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Fortinet, Cisco, and Azure networking technologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAuthenticator, and FortiAnalyzer.
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds or similar network monitoring tools.
  • Deep understanding of IP networking, routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), QoS, DMVPN / ADVPN.
  • Knowledge of SNMPv3, NetFlow, AVC, NBAR, and network performance tools.
  • Experience with encryption and authentication protocols (IPSEC, 802.1x, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSL / TLS, EAP).
  • Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated technical expertise with relevant tools and technologies.
  • Operational experience and troubleshooting in global network environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across BAU and project work.
  • Cybersecurity awareness and experience mitigating vulnerabilities.
  • Cisco certification (e.g. CCNA) or equivalent experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
