Technical Support Specialist
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive professional to join our client in the Education space, providing expert-level support across both internal and client environments.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising systems and network infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. This is a hands‑on technical role that requires strong problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.
What You’ll Do
- Provide expert‑level technical support for systems and network‑related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve system and network performance problems for internal and client environments.
- Respond promptly to service outages and incidents, implementing effective remediation to minimise downtime.
- Address escalated client requests via phone or email, clarifying needs and ensuring timely resolution.
- Manage and execute system and network configuration changes, upgrades, and deployments within the change management process.
- Support both LAN and WAN infrastructure, including on‑premises and cloud‑based systems.
- Collaborate with data centre operations teams on upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Deliver and manage complex infrastructure solutions within client environments.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, high‑quality service.
Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in a technical support or systems / network engineering role within medium to enterprise environments.Experience with multi‑domain environments and virtualisation (VMware, Hyper‑V, Azure).Hands‑on experience with bare‑metal servers (Dell, HPE, Supermicro) and backup / storage solutions (Veeam).Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux Server OS (5+ years).Experience supporting M365 (Intune, Entra, SharePoint) and cloud environments with best practices.Familiarity with networking and infrastructure technologies (Fortinet, Ruckus APs / Switches, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, SSL, AD).Exposure to monitoring and ticketing tools such as NinjaOne and ServiceNow.Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable client infrastructure solutions.Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.Seniority level : Mid‑Senior level
