Large CorporateMedia and Corporate CommunicationsIn this busy media role key responsibilities include -
- Develop and implement integrated external communication strategies that build and maintain reputation through various events, engagements, media and other public facing opportunities
- Work across our businesses to identify and produce compelling stories that align with our strategy and key focus areas, and maintain a forward calendar of these opportunities
- Manage media relationships and develop responses to complex enquiries and issues
- Provide strategic advice on emerging and / or sensitive issues
- Design, implement and coordinate media campaigns
- Develop a range of complex communication and media materials across the organisation and senior stakeholders including briefings, presentations, statements, media releases, op-eds and reports
- Support the organisation spokespeople through the development of media messaging, briefing notes and act as a media spokesperson when required.
- Remain abreast of policies and issues that impact the organisation
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or workplace-based experience in media, PR and / or communications.
- Knowledge of and extensive experience working with the Australian media.
- Demonstrated ability to present complex business ideas, strategies, and results succinctly and persuasively at the senior executive level.
- Experience in a strategic communications advisory role is a must, along with superior writing, editing and compelling verbal communication skill - even on contentious topics—with confidence and sensitivity.
- Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the business and build trust and rapport with external partners.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders at the highest level
