Development Manager

An established business operating in the building and development sector in the Hunter Region has a vacancy available for a Development Manager as it looks to expand its development team. The company manages and delivers quality projects across the entire development life cycle from planning through to design, construction, marketing, and sales; and places great value on its people and the team environment it has created.

About the role

The Development Manager will be responsible for coordinating the property development process including developing initial concept design, preparing submissions, coordinating development approvals, overseeing construction documentation, cost management and delivery. Projects include residential apartment and townhouse developments, civil subdivisions, and mixed use / commercial schemes.

Duties

• Prepare development briefs and programs
• Engage and manage design consultants
• Coordinate and lodge Development Applications
• Create and develop strategies and procedures
• Ensure construction documentation is accurate and complete
• Liaise with consultants and construction teams to manage changes as required
• Coordinate with construction teams to ensure smooth transitions to property settlements
• Communicate progress regularly to all stakeholders

Skills and Experience

Tertiary qualifications in property, architecture, construction, engineering, or other relevant discipline

Experience in property development, design practice or construction on projects within the medium to high density residential building sector

Ability to interpret architectural documentation and consultant reports

Knowledge of the property development industry and the Development Application process

Knowledge of full project life cycle for property developments from conception to delivery
