Position Title : Lead Educator Community, Child Youth and Family Intervention (CYFI) and Mental Health

Employment Status : Full Time Ongoing

Department : Human Services and Education

Award Classification : Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement 2024 (EM1)

About the Role

Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Educator to support the effective delivery of vocational education and training programs in the Community, CYFI and Mental Health space. This is a great opportunity to contribute to strategic projects, drive operational improvements, and support collaborative team success in a purpose‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across multiple programs
  • Coordinate program operations including timetabling, staffing support, and student progress
  • Mentor and support teaching staff, including Teachers Under Supervision
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote and enhance programs
  • Maintain educational and vocational currency
  • Drive continuous improvement in teaching practices
  • Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant qualifications in adult or vocational education (TAE40122 / TAE40116 / TAE40110 and AQF6+ or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ industry experience in relevant fields
  • Extensive teaching experience with strong learner‑centred practice
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and ICT skills
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and innovate in educational settings
  • Knowledge of VET compliance, curriculum development, and quality assurance
  • Additional Requirements

  • A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • A National Police Check
