About the role
Do you love turning ideas into education programs that make a real impact? The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is looking for an Education and Communications Officer and an Education Officer to grow our community education initiatives. In these roles, you’ll develop strategies, deliver programs, and evaluate communications that help diverse communities feel confident using public transport. From seniors and people with disabilities to school students and workplaces, your work will touch a wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll be at the heart of creating engaging programs, events, and resources that make public transport more accessible and inclusive. Working with community groups, schools, government agencies, and internal PTA teams, you’ll plan and deliver initiatives that educate, inspire, and promote safety and confidence on public transport. From workshops to community events, every day offers an opportunity to help people feel empowered and informed.
We’re looking for someone with tertiary qualifications or significant experience in communications, education, or a related field, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects with ease. If you enjoy problem-solving, have a flair for writing and presenting, and want to help communities access and navigate public transport with confidence, this is the role for you. About You!
To excel in the following roles, you should possess :
Level 5 - Education and Communications Officer – 30160 – Permanent Part-Time (48 hours per fortnight)
Level 4 - Education Officer – 33216 - Permanent Full-Time
