Senior Systems Engineer

Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to be based in Sydney. The nature of the programme is highly technical with a strong focus on quality and engineering. This role requires someone who is well versed in engineering standards including ASDEFCON / MIL-Std and ISO. The Engineering Manager will lead a cross functional team, making recommendations and overseeing the full engineering process.

The key focus of this position is the management of a highly motivated and dynamic engineering team. The successful applicant will provide leadership to a broad demographic and guidance on all engineering issues to multiple project teams and management, a manager who will champion best practices in systems engineering, design reviews, testing, and quality assurance. This is a diverse role that will encompass client management, capability management, definition and design as well as manufacture.

Experience Required :

• CPEng qualified Professional Engineer with tertiary qualifications with experience
• A strong track record in engineering and delivery experience
• Demonstrated Leadership in parallel tasks and outcomes
• Experienced in drafting and implementing engineering processes and technical documentation.
• Proven experience mentoring and developing engineering talent
• A traceable history in customer relations
• 8 years of experience in SATCOM or RF engineering,
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Experience in UHF / VHF or HF Communication technology
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Applicant MUST be eligible for a Defence security clearance
