State Manager - Franchise

The client

An established and respected Australian speciality retail brand is seeking an experienced State Manager to lead the region across southern Australia. This organisation is a well loved Aussie icon, going through an exciting time of change, transformation and modernisation. This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role responsible for driving sales, operational excellence and commercial results across a large network of high performing franchised stores. The business is nationally recognised for its quality, customer service and strong local ownership model. You’ll work closely with franchise partners and store teams to strengthen performance, execute national initiatives and deliver a consistent customer experience and profitability.

The role

You’ll provide leadership, coaching and operational support to stores across your region, ensuring delivery of sales targets, compliance standards and business growth objectives. Working in partnership with head office functions, you’ll play a key role in executing strategic programs and supporting the ongoing success of the network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop franchise partners and store teams to deliver commercial and customer outcomes
• Analyse store performance, identify growth opportunities and implement improvement plans
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, operational excellence and visual merchandising
• Partner with marketing, merchandise and operations teams to execute initiatives
• Build strong, trusting relationships across the network through regular communication and collaboration

You bring strong operational and financial acumen, a hands‑on leadership approach and a genuine passion for developing retail businesses and teams. Your style is warm, consultative and grounded in partnership, with the confidence to influence and the humility to listen. You’re commercially sharp, customer‑focused and thrive in a role that balances strategic oversight with in‑field coaching and support.
