At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Clinical Lead - Mental Health to join the Whole Family Team (WFT), part of CCLHD’s integrated Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Service.

About the Opportunity

As the Clinical Lead - Mental Health, you will work alongside the Clinical Lead - Drug and Alcohol to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and education to a multidisciplinary team of dedicated clinicians.

The Whole Family Team provides intensive, family-focused therapeutic support to vulnerable families across the Central Coast, where parental mental health and / or substance use places children at risk of significant harm (ROSH). Working in close partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), WFT delivers trauma-informed interventions - most often in the home - to help parents strengthen their parenting capacity and family functioning so children can safely remain with their families.

This role is suitable for the following - Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, Occupational Therapist Level 4, Senior Psychologist, Social Worker Level 4.

In this role you will :

  • Provide expert clinical leadership, supervision, and mentoring to the Whole Family Team.
  • Support the development and delivery of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally safe interventions for families.
  • Manage a clinical caseload and provide specialist mental health assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote a supportive environment.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and clinical research activities.
  • Contribute to service innovation that aligns with the NSW Health PARVAN Framework, policies, and best practice standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who has :

  • A tertiary qualification and full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Nurse, or Psychologist, or eligibility for AASW membership as a Social Worker.
  • Strong expertise in mental health assessment and intervention, with experience supporting families where parental mental health and / or substance use affects child wellbeing.
  • Proven leadership and clinical supervision skills, with the ability to guide, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience building effective partnerships across health, community, and government sectors.
  • Committed to teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, demonstrated through leading quality initiatives and maintaining up-to-date knowledge in leadership and mental health practice.
