About the Role

Educational Leader – North Brisbane at YMCA Queensland

We’re looking for enthusiastic Educational Leaders to join our Outside School Hours Care team on a permanent part‑time basis.

In this role you will help shape fun, engaging programs that support children’s learning and development outside of school hours. You will guide and support a team of educators, bring creative ideas to life, and make sure every child feels safe, supported, and included.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive the creation, delivery and ongoing improvement of inspiring educational programmes that spark curiosity and growth.
  • Guide, motivate and empower educators to shine in their roles and reach their full potential.
  • Champion child‑centred, play‑based learning that aligns with the latest frameworks and truly puts kids first.
  • Build a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture where every team member feels valued and inspired.
  • Lead by example, encouraging reflective practice and best‑in‑class teaching approaches.
  • Connect and collaborate with families, schools and community partners to create a strong support network around each child.
  • Ensure all programmes meet and exceed compliance requirements while maintaining the highest standards of care.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (desirable).
  • Minimum three years’ experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of child development, attachment, learning.
  • Understanding of evidence‑based best practice approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles.
  • Well‑developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Paid Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
