This role will be based in our Liverpool plant and reports to the process engineering manager.

Responsibilities

• Compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures
• Process & machine modification implements new project equipment to meet specific production requirements, as well as improve existing processes.
• To be responsible for the day to day operation activities, managing daily improvement and making sure that the equipment’s are operating properly with good throughput and quality
• To analyse data from process production (scrap, efficiency, OT, production capacity, OVC, etc.) and lead in continuous improvement activities.
• To develop and upgrade process capability, tooling and machine performance for yield improvement, safety, cost and productivity
• Develop control measures to ensure quality of the final product is met
• Test and approve new materials introduced into the cable manufacturing process and investigate non-conforming materials and / or processes
• Investigate customer complaints jointly with QA department
• Provide process documentation and operating instructions including technical support regarding the cable manufacturing process
• To provide training and guidelines to operators, demonstrate and promote safe working practices and methodologies
• Source equipment, parts and supplies, preparation of capital investment proposals
• Maintain and follow quality standards in production according to the Company Quality policies and regulations
• Oversight of processes and working to maintain optimization of the production line
• Assisting Process Technicians in troubleshooting in the event of a problem
• Presentation of data and reports to senior colleagues and management
• Report monthly on material over-usage in assigned areas making recommendations for improvement
• Maintain and develop procedures for improving process efficiencies (speed, rates / outputs) with Process Owners
• Provide technical support for Manufacturing regarding materials, compounds, process improvement / innovation and continuous improvement strategies with a view to reduced material usage and therefore maximising cost benefit
• Actively contribute to new product development for cables
• Problem solving and Troubleshooting the process
• Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
• Implement lean initiatives to build a continuous improvement culture. Using tools such as; visual management, A3's, SMED, and 5S
