About the role

The Visiting Medical Officer (Gastroenterology) works with the General Medicine Department in providing excellent patient care within Calvary Mater Newcastle to maximise health outcomes for the community.

Short term VMO contracts currently exist for the following period :

1 / 11 / 2025 - 7 / 11 / 2025

1 / 12 / 2025 - 12 / 12 / 2025

• There will be no requirement to be on service after hours, weekends, or Public Holidays.
• There will be 2-3x outpatient clinics per week, 1x theatre (endoscopy) list and inpatient junior team management / workload.
• Based on theatre availability, there may be scope to do a second endoscopy list weekly.

Remuneration will be $2250 per day, plus reasonable travel and accommodation.
