About the Role

As an OT Cybersecurity / Network Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering secure and resilient systems for a major transport infrastructure project. Working closely with design leads, project teams, and cybersecurity specialists, you will ensure that cybersecurity is embedded throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design leads and multidisciplinary teams to achieve engineering milestones and project objectives.
  • Contribute to essential project documentation, including Management Plans, Design Reports, and Engineering Drawings.
  • Prepare and issue Inspection & Test documentation, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project standards.
  • Support implementation of networks and cybersecurity governance aligned with ACSC Cybersecurity Principles, the SOCI Act, and the Essential Eight.
  • Work with OT teams to uplift security practices and align with broader project goals.
  • Support design of networks, servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and hyper‑converged infrastructure.
  • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and identify and treat risks across OT environments.
  • Support incident response activities and drive continuous improvement in operational security processes.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity operations teams to detect, respond to, and mitigate real‑time threats.
  • Deploy cybersecurity technologies that align with industry standards and guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and technical input on security appliance design and implementation.
  • Perform ongoing security maintenance, compliance checks, risk assessments, and audit support for OT systems.
  • Assess and optimise system performance, evaluating the impact of security controls on network and operational efficiency.

About You

  • Tertiary degree (Bachelor) in Engineering or related discipline with experience working in industrial control systems.
  • General or specific Cyber Security certifications (e.g., CCNA, CISSP, GSEC, GICSP, OSCP, CEH, CISM).
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency with programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Hands‑on experience with Cyber Security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls (Cisco ASA, FortiGate preferred), IDS / IPS, DLP, Endpoint Protection.
  • Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure : servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and hyper‑converged systems.
  • Knowledge of recognised standards for industrial control systems cybersecurity (ISA / IEC 62443).
