Monash Adult ICU is a 25 bed tertiary referral centre. We specialise in Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, neurology, obstetrics, general medicine and surgery. We have over 1900 admissions per year and 600 of these are elective surgery and 1300 unplanned / emergency admissions. We have a strong patient focus and are committed to working with new team members to enable you career progression. We have a strong education focus.
In addition, the Outreach team respond to referrals from multiple disciplines to assess and make recommendations regarding the management of adult in-patients. The ICU Outreach nurse is required to provide clinical expertise and guidance for the ongoing management of tracheostomy patients.
Key responsibilities in this role include identifying, planning and implementing strategies that promote patient safety while promoting access and flow to the wards with an increase in patient acuity.
