You will be accountable for the effective and efficient operational management, facilitation, and development of Councils public library service. As an important member of the Community Services department, this position will open opportunities for collaboration across Council departments and will actively participate in policy development and business planning for the Arts and Libraries division.
With a commitment to continuous improvement and positive leadership, you will foster an environment where new innovations, programs and strategies will genuinely make a difference to the lives of a diverse and multicultural Monash community. This role will work closely with Team Leaders across Library sites to foster a performance-based culture and drive accountability by coaching, mentoring and empowering direct reports.
Your experience includes successful results as a senior leader with a public library, the management of diverse teams and success in partnership development.
You will have strong leadership experience in public libraries and effective communications, financial management and understanding of Council governance and risk management.
You hold high level knowledge and skills in Library Management Systems, collections management, reporting and the delivery of communications to Council, senior management and the community.
You are proud in your skills that have achieved the successful management of budgets, forecasting for service delivery and project proposals.
Finally, your communication skills and industry experience has grown a rich network across the Library and cultural sector including Public Libraries of Victoria (PLV), the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), and International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
Tertiary degree qualifications in Librarianship, Information Management or related discipline, or management qualification is mandatory.
Satisfactory National Police Check; and
