About Us :

King Henry's Restaurant is in the stunning tourist destination of Sassafras. Set on 5 acres with a large deck overlooking beautiful gardens.

The old guest house, which dates back to 1902, has been totally renovated and is now one of the most popular destinations in the Dandenong Ranges.

About You :

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

Position Summary :

As the Restaurant Manager your duties include being responsible for the entire running of the store, including the coordination and overseeing of the different areas of the store. Work with other team members (including Head Chef, Sous Chef etc).

Key Requirements :

  • High level of literacy and numeracy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organisations policies and procedures
  • Detailed and up to date knowledge of preparation and presentation of all menu items including both food and beverage
  • Knowledge of workplace health & safety regulations and relevant industrial relation regulations
  • Able to read and understand an income and expenditure report and cash flow analysis
  • Able to establish clear lines of communication with staff, management and suppliers
  • Pro-active, positive, enthusiastic, energetic, responsible, can-do attitude, customer centric and friendly
  • Professional business attitude
  • Provide positive, constructive feedback for staff
  • Focused on success
  • Focused on ensuring open communication and good working relationships with all staff and owners
  • Job Responsibility :

  • Writing of rosters and shift planning
  • Work alongside and supervise all team members of a lower level
  • Able to perform & delegate all key duties of other positions
  • On call for any emergencies and any unexpected store or staffing requirements
  • Accurately record sales and banking
  • Investigate, explain & report on any discrepancies to management
  • Recruits, inducts, trains employees
  • Control COG’s expenditures through the development and use of effective par levels
  • Control COE expenditures through effective rostering and running of shifts
  • Maintain stock control through recording & monitoring wastage, accurate monthly stocktakes, effective ordering / receiving and storage procedures
  • Negotiate with suppliers
  • Training and ongoing development of all team members
  • Enforce daily and weekly systems and procedures to ensure a high level of presentation, hygiene, service, patron experience, product quality and security
  • Effectively discipline and praise staff as required
  • Ensure all menu items are available throughout the entire trading day
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the store is in alignment with food safety
  • Effectively learn and utilise systems and softwares to manage and grow sales, such as OpenTable, eGift Vouchers
  • Collaborate with marketing team and the head chef to strategically plan and prepare for peak seasons and key calendar events, including Easter and Christmas.
