An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Assistant to join a dynamic team at Commonry. This role will be responsible for maintenance of organisational systems and providing administrative and design support to the Creative Director.

  • IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL NEED TO
  • Assist the Creative Director with product development, including research and sketching all adopted styles in Illustrator
  • Attend supplier product development meetings and liaise with suppliers throughout product development process
  • Assist Creative Director with preparation for monthly product meetings
  • Assist in collating and annotating supplier handover documentation, working closely with Garment Technician
  • Attend fit sessions
  • Analysis of product as requested
  • Maintain Style File documents from working range sheets
  • Photograph samples as requested
  • Assist Buyers and Production Manager in checking faulty stock on a monthly basis
  • THE PERFECT FIT
  • A tertiary or equivalent qualification in Design / Product Development
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in a similar position
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competent knowledge and working understanding of fabric and garment construction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with people at all levels
  • Experience liaising with off-shore vendors
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
