The Role

A State Government Agency is seeking a Head of Safety & Wellbeing to oversee the development and implementation of safety and wellbeing strategies. You will drive policy, compliance, and cultural change initiatives to foster a positive and safe workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety and wellbeing programs, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Develop and maintain ISO 45001-certified frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide expert HR advice on workplace health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Partner with executives, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process enhancements in safety and wellbeing.

About You

  • Experience in safety and wellbeing leadership, ideally in government or regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • A tertiary qualification in occupational safety, HR, business, or a related field is desirable.
