For more information about Merit Lists or Merit Pools please go to APSC's website - The APS Merit Principle As an APS 4 Senior Payroll Officer, you will work collaboratively within a team environment to ensure efficient, effective and correct pay and people administration, and deliver customer service excellence to our customers and stakeholders by :

Analysing data and investigating anomalies of a more complex nature, and applying corrective and preventable action within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures; Developing Subject Matter Expertise in your area of responsibility - Acquiring, building and applying professional knowledge and expertise, providing timely and accurate advice of a more complex nature to customers and stakeholders; Sharing your knowledge and expertise by supporting and mentoring less experienced team members to achieve business outcomes and to effect process improvements; Demonstrating Customer Service skills of a high calibre; Responding to and providing advice to customers and stakeholders, including inbound and outbound telephone calls and emails; Demonstrating commitment to on-the-job training and participation in activities to build and maintain systems knowledge and product understanding; Possessing Microsoft Excel skills, collating, analysing and actioning reports as required; Experience with Defence systems including PMKeyS, Objective and iEnterprise is highly desirable but not essential for the role. Due to the nature of our work, successful candidates are expected to start the role on a Baseline Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting 1 Clearance.
