Investment Manager Private Equity

AVC Enterprises International is a small cap private equity fund dedicated to backing real businesses and building enduringly valuable company legacies. We focus on creating long-term value and a lasting positive impact on the companies we invest in.

The Role

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Investment Manager Private Equity, based in Sydney, NSW. The Investment Manager will play a key role in managing investment portfolios, analysing financials, building models, conducting market and industry research, and contributing to the development of investment strategies alongside the broader team and our portfolio founders.

Core responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, driving deal generation and analytics, leading due diligence processes, structuring transactions, and overseeing portfolio company performance.

The role also offers immediate opportunities to take up Board positions, providing direct experience as a company director. In addition, there is scope to contribute to corporate development initiatives across our portfolio for those with a strategic interest in business building.

This is a multifaceted role within a growing, high-performing team—ideal for someone who wants deep exposure to M&A, deal execution, capital management, and fundraising. It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and suited to someone passionate about partnering with founders to build exceptional businesses.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a four-year undergraduate degree from a leading university; postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or CFA are highly regarded
• At least five years of experience in investment banking, with exposure to private equity or principal investing considered a strong advantage
• Demonstrated ability to build and operate robust financial models and perform detailed valuation and transaction analysis
• Strong analytical and commercial judgment, with the ability to interpret financial and market data to inform investment decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders, boards, or investment committees
• Proven ability to work across varied workflows, adapting to shifting priorities and contributing across the full deal lifecycle
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a lean, high-performing team
• A genuine interest in working with founders and management teams to build enduring, high-value businesses
