About the opportunity

Reporting into the Superintendent of People, Westgold is seeking a Senior People Advisor for a permanent position on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster (site-based). The successful candidate will provide quality advisory support through generalist HR activities to business units and serve as the primary contact for employees with people-related queries or issues.

The role includes

  • Supporting the understanding and application of people processes, including performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, and coaching.
  • Facilitating employee relations matters such as investigations, disciplinary outcomes, and actions.
  • Reviewing and revising HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and address current and future business needs.
  • Delivering cyclical HR activities and initiatives, including market and performance-based remuneration reviews, salary reviews, and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborating with the broader team to ensure alignment with corporate and divisional HR practices and priorities.
  • Interpreting and advising on relevant Awards, Industrial Agreements, legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring activity related to IR / ER management is accurately documented and tracked for reporting and analytics.
  • Supporting Injury Management Coordinator with Workers Compensation claims, non-work-related illness and injury management, redeployment, fitness for work, and return-to-work activities.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, researching solutions, and implementing changes.

What do I need?

  • Degree qualifications in Human Resources, employment relations, organizational development, or business.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a HR role, preferably within mining / resources sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels.
  • Ability to coach and educate leaders and employees on employment legislation and related legislative observations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and industrial relations legislation and regulations.
