Food Studies and Catering Assistant

The Role

Leading independent girls school Camberwell Girls Grammar presents an opportunity for a Food Studies Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The position is part-time (0.82FTE) across 5 days and works during the school term only.

This role has two key areas of responsibility : supporting the Food Studies department with the preparation for classes & ordering supplies and providing catering assistance for school events.

You will make an impact by :

• Ensuring student workstations are clean and ready for safe use
• Ordering of Food Studies supplies and monitoring of stock levels
• Lesson set-up pack-up and end of lesson cleaning duties
• Catering set-up and pack-down for school events (e.g. setting up of tea coffee crockery cutlery tablecloths flowers glassware etc)
• Managing all event related items across the school (e.g. crockery cutlery glassware urns linen)

To be successful in this role

You are organised detail focused and take pride in producing work that is well presented and is of a high calibre. Friendly and professional in your approach you build effective working relationships and can adapt easily to last minute changes or requests for assistance. Your strong work ethic supports you to take the initiative and effectively work independently.

You will have :

• Previous experience in a similar food studies catering or food handling role
• Food handling qualifications
• Current Working with Children Clearance or current VIT Registration
• Current Criminal Record Check
