This presents an unprecedented opportunity to be part of transformational infrastructure planning and delivery that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.About the RoleJoin our Infrastructure and Assets team as a Principal Asset Officer and play a crucial role in preparing Brisbane's most iconic public precinct for the 2032 Olympics.
Working under the guidance of our Principal Asset Engineer, you'll be instrumental in implementing best-practice asset management across our diverse portfolio of parklands, public spaces, and recreational infrastructure.This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your local government and open space expertise to one of Australia's most significant public precincts.
You'll leverage ISO 55001 standards while managing the complex stakeholder relationships essential for successful Olympic preparation and ongoing precinct excellence.Key Responsibilities IncludeDeveloping and implementing Asset Management Plans for parklands, public spaces, and recreational infrastructure;Leading condition assessment programs and asset data management across diverse outdoor environments;Supporting the delivery of capital works programs critical for Olympic readiness;Conducting technical investigations and preparing detailed reports for various stakeholder groups;Managing asset maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance of public infrastructure;Collaborating with government bodies, Olympic committees, community groups, and commercial partners;Ensuring compliance with safety, statutory, and regulatory requirements for public spaces; andSupporting financial modelling and budget preparation for asset lifecycle management.This position requires someone who is well-presented, articulate, and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels - from community members and local businesses to government officials and Olympic planning committees.About YouWe're seeking an experienced asset management professional with a strong background in local government or government-owned corporations, particularly within open space and parklands infrastructure.
You'll bring exceptional stakeholder management skills and the professional presence required to represent our organisation during this exciting Olympic preparation period.Essential ExperienceSubstantial experience in local government, council, or government-owned corporation environments;Proven background in open space, parklands, or public infrastructure asset management;Experience with council precinct management or similar public space responsibilities;Strong understanding of ISO 55001 standards and asset management best practices;Demonstrated ability to conduct condition assessments and manage asset data;Experience in preparing technical reports, business cases, and stakeholder presentations; andKnowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements for public infrastructure.QualificationsTertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture, Asset Management, Buildings and Facilities Management, or related field;Asset management qualification preferred; andSubstantial whole-of-life asset management experience, particularly in open public space environments.Desirable ExperienceCouncil precinct management or similar open public space coordination roles;Experience with community consultation and public engagement processes; andFamiliarity with digital asset management technologies and data analysis tools.This is an exceptional opportunity to combine your expertise with Olympic legacy planning while working in one of Brisbane's most prestigious locations.
