Step Into a Leadership Role at City Optics Penrith

We’re looking for an experienced optical professional to join our team as 2IC (Second in Charge), someone ready to lead by example and help keep the store running smoothly when the manager is away.

What Makes This Role Unique

On Wednesdays and Thursdays , you’ll lead the store independently, supporting staff, making key decisions, and keeping everything running smoothly. On other weekdays and the weekend, you’ll work closely with the team and support store operations in a 2IC capacity.

Hours That Work for You

We’re ideally looking for someone to work Wednesday, Thursday, and one weekend day . We require that you be available to cover the Thursday afternoon shift only if the casuals are unavailable to do the shift. Happy with part-time? We are open to part-time if those three days are available. However, we do prefer 4-5 days (inclusive of the above three days).

What You’ll Do

• Manage the store independently on key days (Wednesday and Thursday)
• Support and guide the team
• Resolve customer issues and process refunds
• Train junior staff
• Keep the day on schedule and jump in where needed
• Make confident, practical decisions (No hiring, rostering, or stock ordering as those are already handled)

You’re experienced in optics, confident working independently, and enjoy being part of a friendly, high-performing team. If you're ready to take ownership, lead by example, and work three to five solid days a week, we’d love to meet you.
