Salvation Army Housing Victoria (SAHV) run a range of tenancy programs which include long-term housing, transitional housing, crisis accommodation and rooming house properties. We also develop and build our own social and affordable housing, and work in partnerships with various developers and financiers around Australia to increase the overall stock of housing available for those in most need.
About the Role
We have an exciting max-term opportunity for 12 months, full time for Property Manager (Housing Worker) to join our Salvos Housing Victoria team in Sunshine, Melbourne office.
Reporting to the Housing Coordinator_,_ you will be responsible to provide tenancy and property management services in line with the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) across properties in Western Metropolitan Melbourne. The role is pivotal in assisting tenancies to be sustained and assist renters to exit into secure accommodation.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensuring management of end-to-end tenancy function in both Transitional and Long Term properties within the portfolioManagement of leases, rent reviews and arrearsOrganising routine property inspectionsFacilitate support for maintenance services and repairs for propertiesKeeping tenant records accurate and up to date in CHINTARO softwareDeveloping strategies to address tenant needs within relevant policy and procedure and Residential Tenancy Act (RTA) guidelinesAssess tenant issues, needs and circumstances and represent Salvation Army Housing at VCAT hearings as requiredAbout You
The role will ideally suit someone with property management background who has strong understanding of the range of needs and issues affecting individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
Key capabilities :
Demonstrated experience within Real estate, NFP, social or community housing sectorsRelevant experience in tenancy and property managementStrong understanding of the Residential Tenancies ActSound knowledge of housing development within the social housing and community welfare sector will be highly regardedA current full Driver's LicenceWhy work for us
