- Work in a pleasantly paced, high-end gift store in Hawthorn, near convenient public transport and parking
- Regular hours, plus opportunity to work additional shifts over the pre-Christmas season
- Fully paid training period, earning Award wages or above (starting at Level 3)
Blackbird & Fox is open 7 days, in the heart of Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn. Our primary focus is on Australian designed and made products, and providing ethically made, quality, long lasting wares (no novelty landfill)!
Ideally, you will have an interest in arts / crafts / design, and experience in retail or a similar customer service role (experience with Vend / Lightspeed & Shopify both highly regarded). Kindness, honesty and reliability are imperative.

The job involves :
Open / close duties as requiredProcessing / packing and shipping of web ordersAttending to customers in-store and via telephone or web contactGift wrappingComputerised POS & EFT transactionsUnpacking orders and receiving stock into inventoryMerchandisingLight cleaning duties, such as sweeping, dusting, bins in / out etcAd hoc duties within the usual scope of retail (ie. Banking, Post Office run etc)You will require the following :
A sense of delight and accomplishment in doing things wellCompetency in gift-wrapping and visual merchandisingAbility to follow through multi-stage tasks from commencement to completion, even while multi-taskingCompetency in computer skills (Mac OS)Willingness to undertake light cleaning tasksExcellent spoken and written English language skillsHigh degree of accuracy in visual, written and numerical tasksFast uptake of new information and processes (there's a lot to learn!)Minimum availability of 2 days per week (including some weekends) with the opportunity to increase your regular hours in the future (additional shifts are also available during busy periods such as pre-Christmas)Australian or NZ citizenship or permanent residency, or an appropriate long-term work visa with no cap on hours worked per fortnightWe offer you the following :
