We have a current opportunity for Commercial Managers , on a contract basis within the Defence sector. These roles are based in Canberra, ACT . The contract is for an initial 24 month period, with a 12 month extension option .

DSS Skill Set : Level 3 - Procurement Methodologies & Contracting Options & Tender Development
The Procurement Support will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties :
- Creation and submission of request document packs.
- Creation and submission of approval documents.
- Creation of procurement and contracting plans, strategies, tender evaluation plans, negotiation directives, IP / Technical Data analysis, supporting industry briefs and related procurement artefacts.
- Conducting commercial evaluation / negotiations, engaging with key stakeholders and related activities to the procurement process.
- Consideration of past ANAO audit reports and recommendations.
The Contract Management Support will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties :
Developing contract variations, ad hoc services requests (e.g. Survey and Quote) as well as all supporting analysis e.g. updating liability risk assessment, GFM updates, reviewing deliverables for all SPO contracts.Taking and reviewing minutes, baselining contracts by incorporating contract variations, filing correspondence and deliverables, checking invoices, calculating total contract values, filing conflict of interest forms and nondisclosure agreements.General contract management advice e.g. S&Q v increase to Recurring Services, performance management frameworks and incentives etc.Consideration of past ANAO audit reports and recommendations.The General Commercial Support will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties :
Providing commercial advice and guidance to delegates and stakeholders.Interpreting commercial policy, identifying commercial risks and treatment methodologies.Supporting performance and compliance reviews of suppliers under contract e.g. support Supplier Rating System activities. This includes performance reviews under the contract as well as checks on Australian Industry Capability (AIC) and the Defence Industry Development Strategy's requirements; adherence to appropriate WHS requirements as required.Knowledge and skills development for Commonwealth staff to build the commercial and the business acumen of the SPO.Provide a single point of contact for Materiel Procurement Branch, legal, export controls, finance and other enabling functions.Liaising with colleagues in other functions (e.g. project management, engineering, finance, ILS) as needed in delivery of the commercial services.Minimum mandatory requirements :
AGSVA Security clearance.Qualified practitioner with higher degree qualifications or relevant industry experience of more than 8 years within Defence.Must have an extensive background and knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and ASDEFCON Contracting Suite and Accountable Authority Instructions.For the full information on this position, please submit your CV before 8am Thu 03 July 2025.
